We’re grateful for our Family Tree,
where pure sweet love abounds.
Our roots are deeply planted
In rich and fertile grounds.
We enjoy the rays of sunshine
and endure the days of rain.
And when a leaf falls from our tree
together we share the pain.
God gave the gift of families
to treasure, love and cherish,
and didn’t intend at our life’s end,
that family bonds should perish.
For, as in turn we cross the veil
how great our joy will be
as we embrace ancestors there
on heaven’s family tree.

Ron this poem is beautiful. My 12 year old read it at my dad’s graveside this year. To the sound of lambs in the field and a stream running by, her voice was heard in the warm May sun in a small graveyard in the West of Ireland.
