Our lives are not the same today
nor will they be tomorrow.
For one we love has passed away
and hearts are filled with sorrow.
Life can end in but a blink
and loved ones who remain,
grieve because a precious link
has left their family chain.
Link by link and one by one
our mortal bodies die.
Rising up like morning sun
while bidding earth goodbye
Where awaits a beautiful sight
most joyous to behold.
Family chains, glowing bright
with links of shining gold.
