Dad’s Promise

Years ago as dad lay dying,
we stood by his bed and wept.
It was there he made a promise
that today, dear mom, he kept.

He held your hand and told you
that before he had to go,
he’d leave you with a promise
because he loves you so.

He told you that he’d miss you,
and that he knew you’d miss him too
Then with tears he promised
when you died he’d come for you.

Years passed quickly since that day
and it came your turn to go.
I saw you smile before you died.
Dad came for you…I know.

Tears of Joy

Now I lay me down to sleep. Those who loved me mourn and weep. Time on earth has come and gone. Yet in spirit I live on. I awaken and behold Heaven with its streets of gold. Such beauty, peace and love I see. Shed but tears of joy for me.

Somewhere

Somewhere, in another place beyond this atmosphere; Someone’s waiting for me. ...Someone very dear. A place where peace and beauty are well beyond compare. A place where love will live again. Somehow, Sometime, Somewhere.

Lonely Moon

If every time I thought of you a star fell from the sky; The moon would soon be left alone with nothing but to cry.
