The “Grand” In Grandchildren

 
Whoever put the “grand” in grandson,
and the “grand” in granddaughter too,
must have known my grandkids,
who are “grand”, through, and through.,

 
And when they come to my house
for a visit now and then,
I’m reminded just how grand they are,
again…and again… and again.

 
Dear God, you knew how lonely,
we would become one day,
when our children all grew up,
got married, and moved away.

 
So You gave us grandchildren
to visit our empty nest.
Bringing youth back into our lives,
our golden years to bless.
