The Good Samaritan

He lay along the roadside,

beaten and close to dying.

A certain priest passed him by,

but went on, and left him lying.

Then came by a Levite,

much too full of pride,

saw the poor man lying there,

and passed by on the other side.

But then a man; a Samaritan

who was also passing through,

had compassion on the stranger

and did all that he could do.

He dressed his wounds , gave him drink,

and took him to an inn.

Then paid the keeper to tend him there

until well to travel again.

Christ told the story of the Samaritan

to teach of charity.

“Insomuch as ye do unto the least

of these, ye have done it unto Me”.
