Have A Nice Day

We hear it at the grocery store,

from our barber, and the bank.

From the guy at the quick stop,

when we fill up our tank.

They mean well, I suppose,

every time I hear them say,

the same old repetitious words,

“Have a nice day.”

Sometimes they even say it

when the day is done and gone

Day and night, wrong or right,

Those words keep rolling on..

Just in case they have no clue,

of anything else to say,

consider these alternatives, to

“Have a nice day.”

“Hey, I’m glad that you came in.”

“I hope to see you again.”

“I appreciate your business.”

“Good luck to you, my friend.”

“Be safe in your travels.”

“Come back again this way.”

“Thanks a lot, take care out there.”

There are other things to say.

I’m glad I have that off my chest,

I’m sorry I feel that way,

Thanks for listening. Gotta go.

“Have a nice day!”
